Wujitang was invited by Connaught Heights Elementary School in New Westminster to perform traditional Chinese martial arts at the school on February 8, 2024 (the 28th day of the Lunar New Year). Master Gao, accompanied by several students, showcased a range of traditional Chinese martial arts, including Chen-style Taijiquan, Yang-style Taijiquan, Taiji Push Hands, Taiji Fan Dance, Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Sword, Bagua Deer Horns, and short pole.
The performance also included an interactive element, where students were taught the basic palm movements of Baguazhang.
The event was thoughtfully organized by the school principal, Tu Loan Trieu, and with the support of some student parents. It offered students a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese martial arts before the Chinese Lunar New Year, adding significant meaning to the occasion. The students responded enthusiastically and enjoyed both the educational and entertaining aspects of the event.
